Surveillance shows suspect slashing tires at Aspengrove School in Lantzville

Incident in private school's parking lot Aug. 15 caught on security camera

Nanaimo RCMP are hoping the public can help identify a suspect in a tire-slashing incident that occurred at Aspengrove School in Lantzville last week.

According to an RCMP press release, security cameras caught a man with a large knife walking around a passenger van and puncturing all four tires. The incident occurred at 1:20 a.m. on Aug. 15 in the school’s parking lot. Aspengrove is located at 7660 Clark Cres.

The man is wearing only shorts and sandals, said police. The video can be viewed below.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345, quoting file #2018-29583.
