It seems that the Grinch isn’t the only one intent upon stealing the Christmas spirit.
Sooke RCMP are looking for help in locating a Grinch-like character who, On Dec. 23, allegedly stole the tip jar from the Serious Coffee shop at 6661 Sooke Road.
Apparently, a man entered the business at about 3:15 p.m. and snagged the tip jar, took it into the washroom and stole the contents, leaving the jar behind.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 45 to 50 years old, with a beard and moustache (possibly dark with some grey).
At the time of the theft, the suspect was wearing a dark “Air Jordan” toque and a dark jacket.
Apparently, the alleged thief was not clever enough to realize that the security camera at Serious Coffee was recording the act and provided a clear photograph of the suspect, which has now been provided to the public.
Sooke RCMP are requesting anyone with information related to the person or persons responsible for the theft, to please call the Sooke RCMP at 250-642-5241 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.
