Penticton firefighters and RCMP were called to Lakawanna Park at the corner of Lakeshore Drive and Power Street March 23 just after 4 p.m. after receiving a report of smoke coming from the women’s washroom in the concession building. According Penticton fire chief Wayne Williams someone apparently lit toilet paper in a dispenser on fire resulting in some smoke damage to the insde of the washroom. Police say there are no surveillance cameras at the park and people in the area were unable to provide any help as to identifying whoever was responsible.
