Although there was no crime intended, police are commending the public on their actions.
Staff Sgt. Scott West issued a news release Friday stating that on Thursday, Oct. 18, the Salmon Arm RCMP received a report of a suspicious male who had approached three young girls while on their way to school.
Through the course of the investigation, he said, police were able to identify the male and determine that there was no ill intent or motivation on his part.

However, he says police appreciate the report and the help of the public.
“The Salmon Arm RCMP are reminding the public to remain vigilant and commend the actions of the young
girls and bystanders in reporting the incident to the school and the local RCMP.”
