SUV rolls over along Hammond Bay Road

No one hurt in crash just after midnight Thursday near Departure Bay

A sport-utility vehicle rolled over on the side of a wet road early Thursday morning, but no one was hurt.

Nanaimo Fire Rescue and Nanaimo RCMP were called just after midnight to Hammond Bay Road, where a Chevy Tracker was upside-down on the shoulder near Prince John Way.

Emergency personnel at the scene said the SUV had been travelling southwest when the accident occurred and the two occupants were unhurt.

Only one lane was blocked as crews cleared the scene.
