The Museum at Campbell River will present a lecture by the 2014 Haig-Brown Writer in Residence, Andrew Nikiforuk on March 1, from 2-4 p.m.
Entitled Pipelines, Economic Engines and the Petro State, Nikiforuk will address the rapid development of the tar sands, the world’s largest energy project. The tar sands have no doubt changed the political and economic character of the country. For more than two decades Andrew Nikiforuk has written about energy, economics and the West for a variety of Canadian publications.
Nikiforuk’s journalism has won seven National Magazine Awards since 1989. The cost for the lecture is $6. To reserve a seat, call the Museum at 250-287-3103.
