A team effort between Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue, the Cumberland Fire Department and BC Ambulance helped to assist an injured mountain biker Saturday.
CVGSAR president Paul Berry said the team received a page during their annual helicopter training on Forbidden Plateau.
The team responded to Cumberland, where they had to go off-trail and use a rope set-up to steady the stretcher for the mountain biker in order for him to be assisted by BC Ambulance.

The biker was transported to hospital by BC Air Ambulance; his condition is unknown.
Berry noted especially during the summer months, he encourages riders of all experience and skill levels who are adventuring into the backcountry to be prepared.
“Make sure you share your location where you’re riding with another person, and download an app like Trail Forks which tracks your GPS position and has an emergency feature.”
