Twenty-four teams are poised to hit home runs for Child Find B.C. this weekend for the 23rd annual Michael Dunahee Slo-Pitch Tournament of Hope.

The tournament is held at Topaz Park on Aug. 9 and 10.

“This is the biggest fundraiser of the summer for Child Find B.C.,” said president Crystal Dunahee.

“Our children are going missing for a variety of reasons in this province and in Canada, and the magnitude of this problem is staggering with so many children reported as missing and it is devastating their families,” she added.

Michael Dunahee disappearance in Victoria spawned one of the largest police investigations in Canadian history, and to date, more than 11,000 tips have been received by police.

Child Find B.C. is a charitable non-profit organization working with families and law enforcement to reduce the incidence of missing and exploited children.
