The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 92 calls for service from December 14, 8 AM till December 17, 8 AM. During the same time period there were 17 people lodged in Terrace Cells. Seven of these people were lodged for public intoxication.
Here are some of the calls responded to:
On Dec. 15 a 61-year-old man driving a white 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche struck a 56-year-old woman in the turn around in front of Mills Memorial Hospital. The pedestrian and the driver did not see each other. The woman suffered minor injuries and was transported into the hospital by BC Ambulance. The vehicle had minor damage.
Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart apprehended a man for shoplifting. Police attended and arrested a 24-year-old man for shoplifting. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The man is on conditions to not go to Walmart.
Group of intoxicated people drinking in alley. Police arrested a 39-year-old man for breaching the condition of abstain absolutely from the consumption of alcohol. The man was held for court. Frank Bennett is charged with breach of probation.
Two men walking near Walsh Ave and Munroe St carrying a sawed off shotgun. Police located the two boys both 14 yrs of age. They were carrying a plastic toy pump action shotgun. Police spoke with the boys about the possible consequences of carrying replica firearms in public.
A green 1993 Ford Escort was checked at a roadblock on Lakelse Ave. The driver did not hold a driver’s licence. The Ford was not registered and the licence plate on the vehicle was attached to another vehicle. The 34-year-old man was arrested for possession of stolen property. The man was also found in possession of three other inactive licence plates registered to other vehicles. The Ford was towed. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Domestic dispute. A 27-year-old man bit a woman when he was told that he could not spend the night at a residence. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Intoxicated person refusing to leave a residence on Soucie Ave. Police arrested an 18-year-old woman for breaching a no consume alcohol condition. Police transported the woman to her residence.
Intoxicated man inside of a garage on Kalum St. The intoxicated man locked the door preventing the home owner to get in. The home owner kicked the door in to gain entrance and the man fled on foot. Police located the 20-year-old man a short distance away and arrested him for break and enter. The man was intoxicated to the point that he thought that he was just chased out of his own home. Charges of mischief are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Domestic dispute. A man became upset when a woman came home late. The man assaulted the woman and destroyed property. Police arrested a 32-year-old man for assault. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Shoplifter at All Seasons Source for Sports. Police identified the man by video footage and have spoken with him. He is banned from the store.
Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart apprehended a man and woman for shoplifting. The man attempted to bribe the Loss Prevention Officer to let them go by offering him a drug. Police arrested a 40-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
A red 1995 Honda Accord was checked in a roadblock on Queensway Dr. near Thornhill Creek. The 57-year-old driver did not have a driver’s licence and was prohibited. The vehicle he was driving was impounded. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Alarm at Veritas School. Police determined that the school was entered and nothing was taken or destroyed. An intoxicated 16-year-old boy was arrested a short distance away. He was released to a guardian.
Intoxicated man attempting to gain entry into a residence on Scott Ave. Police observed a man waving his arms, slurring screams, and yelling obscenities. The man was arrested for public intoxication. He continued to act in the highly agitated state for the duration of the trip to Terrace Detachment.
Lost wallet and phone between Kalum St and Park Ave. The phone is a grey LG touch screen and the wallet is white and purple leather.
A 13-year-old girl was reported missing for the 12th time since Oct. 31. She returned a short time later.
