Teen shot in the rear end

Police are investigating a shooting near Maple Green Elementary in Surrey on Monday.

Police are investigating after a teen was shot in the right buttock near a Surrey elementary school.

On Monday night, police responded to a call of multiple shots fired near 148 Street and Spencer Drive.

They found several shell casings.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old boy had driven himself to the hospital with a bullet wound to his buttock.

The victim said he was by himself when he was shot, a claim the police have not been able to verify.

RCMP said Tuesday the boy is not known to police and said they don’t believe the shooting to be random.

He is expected to make a full recovery.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or to remain anonymous, call Crime  Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS)
