A teen is in hospital after being stabbed at a Newton home on the weekend.

On Sunday (Dec. 11), Surrey RCMP was called to a home near 138 Street and 71 Avenue for a report of a stabbing.

On arrival, Mounties found a 17-year-old male, suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to hospital where he remains in stable, and injuries that are not life-threatening.

Initial investigation has revealed that an altercation occurred between two individuals resulting in the stabbing.

A suspect has been arrested in the act of violence.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this incident involves parties known to each other.
