The Telkwa Bridge has been fixed after it was struck by a logging truck last week.
The Interior News learned that at approximately 11 a.m. on Jan. 22 the Telkwa Bridge crossing the Bulkley River was hit by an empty logging truck.
The truck hit the bridge on its east side.
In an emailed statement the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoT) confirmed there were no injuries and the truck which struck the bridge was empty.
The bridge was repaired over the weekend.

There were closures and restrictions while the bridge was being fixed but those have all been removed.
MoT also added that all ministry bridges are inspected annually, and the Bulkley River Bridge in Telkwa is in good condition.
On the Village of Telkwa’s social media page people were divided, with some suggesting the Village scrap the bridge and replace it with a two-lane crossing and others defending it as inherent to Telkwa’s charm.
