A man has died following a motor-vehicle collision north of Kitimat yesterday afternoon.
Around 4:15 p.m. September 14, police responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and SUV on Hwy 37 at Oolichan Avenue.
A northbound SUV was attempting to turn left when an oncoming motorcycle collided with the vehicle.
The motorcyclist, a Terrace man in his 70s, was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries just after 5 p.m.
The driver and sole occupant of the SUV received minor injuries.
The highway was closed, then later traffic was routed around the crash while Kitimat RCMP, West Pacific Region Traffic Services, and ICARS collision reconstructionist members investigated.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
