The Terrace area continues to have one of the highest rates of COVID-19 per 100,000 people in all of B.C.
Numbers released recently by the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) show that the Terrace area had 44 new COVID-19 cases between Jan. 3 and Jan. 9. Terrace had an average daily rate of over 20 cases per 100,000 people, putting Terrace alongside jurisdictions such as Surrey and Abbotsford (though the number of B.C. jurisdictions with over 20 cases per 100,000 has steadily grown in recent weeks).
The Nass Valley had 29 new cases over the same time period and also had an average daily rate of over 20 cases per 100,000 people.
Northern Health posted two new exposure notices for Terrace schools. Centennial Christian School and Parkside Secondary School both had exposures on Jan. 8.
