Terrace RCMP are making a public appeal for information after a skid steer was stolen from a local business.
Thieves made off with the machine from a business on Sharples Rd sometime during the night of June 24/25.
The skid steer has an estimated value of $54, 500.
Officers responded to approximately 111 calls for service from July 24th, 8 am to July 27th, 8 am. During the same time period twenty people were lodged in Terrace cells. Fourteen of these people were lodged for intoxication.
Here are some of the calls responded to:
- Suicidal 26 yr old man. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.
- Police observed a woman in breach of a no contact condition. The 33 yr old woman was arrested and is held for court.
- A person found their stolen bike in the possession of two males. Police spoke with the people involved and the bike was returned to its rightful owner.
- A blue Ford Ranger struck a pedestrian in the parking lot of the Canadian Tire. No injuries.
- An intoxicated man knocking on the door of a residence and refusing to leave. Police located the 34 yr old man in the area and he was arrested for breaching probation condition of not to consume alcohol. The man uttered serious life threats to the police officer. He is held for court.
- Break and enter and breach of a no contact condition. Police located a man sleeping inside of residence he is on conditions to not be at. The 35 yr old man was arrested and is held for court.
- A blue 2009 Chevrolet Silverado lost control, hit a house, and ended up flipped onto its side on Queensway Dr on June 25th. The driver fled the scene. Under investigation.
- A blue 2008 Jeep Cherokee hit the ditch on Kitselas Rd and the driver fled the scene. Under investigation.
- A brown wallet containing various cards and ID was lost at the farmer’s market.
- Police observed two vehicles street racing on Hwy 16 at the Sande Overpass. A grey 2002 Chevrolet Silverado and a white 2014 Ford F150 truck were both impounded and both drivers were issued driving prohibitions.
- A man acting in an irrational manner due to intoxication by many substances. Police assisted BC Ambulance and the man was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital. Police reattended later in the evening and arrested the man.
- The window of a business was smashed out on Lakelse Ave and alcohol was stolen on June 26th. Under investigation.
- Deceased 102 yr old woman at a residence on Straume Ave.
- The Inn of the West Beer and Wine Store was broken into on the night on June 26th at 5 am.
- A woman fell out of a side by side UTV on Hwy 16 near Usk suffering serious injuries.
- Police observed two men attempting to avoid them walking in an alley off of Lakelse Ave. Checks determined that one of the men was in breach of condition of not to consume alcohol. The 25 yr old man resisted arrest and attempted to grab a tool from the police officer’s belt. Eventually he was put under control and placed into a police vehicle where he spit all over and kicked the windows. The man is held for court.
- A purple Challenger bike with a yellow and white stripe was found near a residence on the 3200 block of Eby St.
- A red Ford Truck hit the ditch near Rosswood on Kalum Lake Rd. No injuries. The truck was towed.
- Suicidal 19 yr old woman was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.
- Attempt break and enter to a business on Lakelse Ave. No entry was gained.
- Four youth car shopping on McConnell Ave. One of the youth attempted to run from police but he was detained by another member approaching in the opposite direction. Stolen credit cards from a theft from vehicle that occurred on June 25th were seized from his person. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
- Assist Winnipeg Police Service with a missing person investigation.
- A white and purple men’s Trek 4300 mountain bike was found on the 4100 block of Eby St. It was returned to its owner.
- A silver Honda car was hung up on a concrete barrier in the Christy Park parking lot. Under investigation.
