A report of a man passed out in a running vehicle led to the seizure of a variety of drugs and weapons, according to a March 8 Terrace RCMP media release.
On Feb. 26, police located a driver slumped over the steering wheel with the keys in the ignition in the 4700 block of Lazelle Ave. and observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle’s centre console.
RCMP woke up the driver and conducted a roadside field sobriety test where the driver was believed to be impaired by drugs. Police arrested the driver for possession of a controlled substance and conducted a search of the vehicle.
Police located and seized a flare gun, five knives, three metal baseball bats, three cans of bear spray, one hatchet, six bear bangers, a homemade edged metal weapon and two wood clubs.
Members also seized $2,804 CAD, 82.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 13.6 grams of suspected cocaine, 21.7 grams of suspected fentanyl, 1.9 grams of suspected heroin and 0.7 grams of suspected psilocybin.
The suspect was transported to the Terrace RCMP detachment and was later released. The vehicle was towed and impounded.
