A crew from Sea-to-Sky Drilling Services from Coquitlam punches holes six-inch diameter and 10 feet long through the pavement at the junction of Highway 5 and the road to Wells Gray Park last Wednesday. Purpose of the drilling was to assess the pavement and the material under it for a possible roundabout. The highway is rated for 85 tonnes and so a major project could require the addition of more fill or even a layer of concrete for stability.
