Kelowna RCMP are asking for assistance in locating missing property

Kelowna RCMP are searching to recover property taken from a vehicle parked overnight in a local hotel parking lot.

On April 16, 2017 shortly after 9 a.m., the RCMP received a report of a theft from a vehicle parked in a hotel parking lot located in the 1100 block of Harvey Avenue in Kelowna.

Sometime between 10 pm.. on April 15 and 8:30 a.m. on April 16, a thief or thieves gained access to a locked white Ford F350 pickup truck. A window left rolled down may have been a factor, as there were no signs of forced entry as the vehicle was later found undamaged.

The following items were taken:

· a red and black Backcountry Access (BCA) Float 32 Avalanche Airbag Pack;

· a white Helly Hanson ski coat;

· a large black leather Matt and Nat bag;

“RCMP hope to locate and return the stolen items to the owners,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. “The combined valued of the items stolen from the pickup truck was well over $3,300.”

Kelowna RCMP would like to remind residents, “don’t be an easy target, lock your vehicle, remove valuables or keep them out of sight and always report suspicious activity to police,” said Cpl. O’Donaghey.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cst. Paul Legault of the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300. Remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637).
