The Grinch hit the Dashwood Volunteer Fire Department during the weekend.
According to the department’s Facebook page, “sometime in the past 24 hours someone broke into our storage seacan at our 230 Hobbs Rd. fire station and stole all our spare fuel we have been using to fuel up our generator and our fire trucks” in the aftermath of the recent windstorm.
Also stolen were a brand-new mountain bike, being stored as a Christmas present, two weed eaters, all the department’s oil and other items.
“Well, we like to post about positive stuff but this one is a low blow,” read the post.
They asked anyone with any information regarding suspicious activity around the station to contact Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111.
