Several thousand people attended Sunday morning’s Nagar Kirtan (Sikh parade) as it travelled from the Gurwarda Sahib Kalgidhar Darbar through the streets of west Abbotsford and back to the temple by late afternoon. The parade is part of the Sikh custom involving the processional singing of holy hymns throughout the community. While practiced at any time, it is customary in the month of Vaisakhi.
