In addition to setting your clocks back an hour Saturday night for daylight savings on Sunday, be sure you have your yard waste bagged and ready for pick-up Monday during the annual fall yard waste collection.
Come 7 a.m. on Nov. 5, trucks will be out on the road in Salmon Arm for the one-day, curbside waste collection service.
To be eligible for the service, yard waste must be placed unbundled in compostable (kraft) paper bags. Items accepted for collection include leaves, clippings (grass, lawn and hedge), sod, flowers, non-invasive weeds, vegetable stacks, shrubs and shrub or tree branches of up to one inch (2.5 cm) diameter and three feet (91 cm) in length.

While there is a limit to how heavy the stuffed bags can be – 20 kgs or 44 lbs – there is no limit to the number of bags that will be collected. However, bags must be on the curb by 7 a.m.
If trucks are unable to reach your neighbourhood on collection day, bags will be collected the following or subsequent days.
