An argument about an off-leash dog turned nasty when a man head butted the father of a family out for a walk on trails near the Cedar Hill golf course.

The force of the attack knocked the dad into his three-year-old daughter, who fell into a duck pond.

Neither the girl or her father suffered serious injuries.

The attack happened after the family watched a dog chasing after birds.

The girl’s mother asked a man walking in the area if the dog belonged to him.

According to the police report, the man denied he owned the dog and then said “You know, dogs will chase birds.”

An argument ensued leading to the head-butt. The alleged assailant is described as 55 years old, with medium length grey hair and about 6’3” and 220 pounds.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 250 475-4321 and reference file number 11-7397.
