Many of the stories that made the top of the most-viewed list for Castlegar News in 2018 were related to forest fires.
The top story, “Kootenay fires grow — more evacuation alerts,” was read by 25,000 people on our local news site, and by many thousands more across the Black Press Media chain.
“Fire closes Hwy 3” was read about 20,000 times locally.
Stories related to the November death of tow truck operator Wayne Kernachan were also among the most read stories of the year, attracting close to the same number of readers as the wildfire stories.
