Tour de North Cops for Cancer team kicks off 850-kilometre journey

Team to travel from Prince George to Vanderhoof Friday, Sept. 14

Buoyed by the strong community support they just received in Williams Lake, local members of the Cops for Cancer Tour de North team set off on their journey Friday.

The team, which includes Dave Dickson, Const. Joel Kooger and his wife, Alison Kooger, Const. Taylor Callens and Const. Isaac Perreault Labbe, were given high fives from students as they left Prince George Friday morning.

Weather for the start of the journey was unseasonably cold, however, team members said they were hoping for warmer weather in the days to come.

On Wednesday the community raised more than $30,000 during the annual Cops for Cancer Jail n’ Bail fundraiser.
