Rural residents in the Boundary will have a chance to have their say on the upcoming regional district budget.
The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary is inviting all Area D (Christina Lake) residents, taxpayers and interested individuals to a town hall meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 11 (6:30 p.m.) at Grand Forks Seniors’ Hall to learn about how the regional district operates in general, and to listen to information regarding the 2014 budget and the 2014-2018 Five-Year Financial Plan.
RDKB staff will provide information regarding the legislative framework that regional districts must abide by, what overall regional services and what specific electoral area services are provided and how much taxpayers pay.
Information respecting how levels of taxation are determined will be presented. Information regarding Area D projects and other regional district-wide projects will also be presented.
This will be an opportunity to comment on the 2014 budget for Area D residents, and an opportunity to let director Roly Russell know your views and what kind of local government services you want.
