A tractor-trailer unit crashed into a marsh near the Enchanted Forest tourist attraction early Monday morning after the driver swerved to miss a deer.
Revelstoke RCMP were called out to the single-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway at 4 a.m.
They say the driver, a 52-year-old man from Tilbury, Ontario, lost control of his 2011 Volvo tractor after swerving to miss the deer. The truck then plunged into the water at the side of the road.
The driver was not injured in the crash. Damage is estimated at $5,000.
Environment officials attended the scene later in the day.
No charges were laid in the incident.
