Traffic on Island Highway has returned to normal after an accident in the Brechin Road turn lane caused lineups late in the morning.
Nanaimo RCMP and Fire Rescue responded to the call at around 11:45 a.m. Saturday for an accident involving a truck and a taxi in the turn lane leading to Departure Bay ferry terminal.
The truck and fire crews cleared the scene by about 12:10 p.m., with police and the taxi leaving after that.

Paramedics were not observed at the scene.
Traffic flow had returned to normal by about 12:30 p.m.
