A Hollywood-style escape attempt didn’t quite work out as planned for a Trail man on Thursday.
Trail RCMP say they captured Christopher James Thom at an apartment on Jan. 3 after a very short chase.
Police had been trying to track Thom down on charges of breaching a condition of an earlier release, and finally cornered him in an apartment in West Trail.
“Thom attempted to flee from the police by jumping through a glass window of the apartment,” said Sgt. Mike Wicentowich in a news release Friday.
“Unfortunately for him, [it was] into the arms of an awaiting police officer.”
Thom was quickly apprehended and brought safely into custody.
Wicentowich said the Trail and Greater District RCMP are pursuing several charges stemming from the incident, in addition to prior charges.
