3 – A donation from HomeGoods Furniture will allow the Sanctuary Pre-Teen Centre to remain open for the summer.

5 – Fall lead testing at the Kiro Wellness Centre will be expanded to include residents of Warfield and Casino.
6 – The first reports of vehicles being taken off the road by ICBC due to the two acid spills in Trail shows 19 vehicles have been written off. That number will swell to over 1,000 in less than two months.
11 – A Trail man died in fall above the rock bluffs near the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. Witnesses saw a climber fall several metres from the rock face.
12 – The province has banned large scale huckleberry picking in some regions of the Kootenays.
13 – A rash of vehicle fires, two in the Fruitvale area, has RCMP suspecting an arson.

25 – Trail Smoke Eater owners Annie and Rich Murphy present a cheque for $27,000 on behalf of the Murphy Family Foundation to help with the Lower Sunningdale Court Conversion Project , which will become a multi-purpose venue.
26 – A campfire ban is issued for the entire Southeast Fire Centre due to the extreme wildfire danger.
26 – The sale of the Waneta Dam is official as Teck sold its remaining shares to BC Hydro for $1.2 billion.
26 – The province announces that three new full-time paramedics and a new ambulance will operate out of Trail in September.
29 – Helitankers and regional firefighters quickly douse a wildfire near Casino before it can spread any further. No homes were threatened and the cause was under investigation. FortisBC cut off power to about 2,500 customers as a safety measure.
