6 – The first reports of vehicles being taken off the road by ICBC due to the two acid spills in Trail shows 19 vehicles have been written off. That number will swell to over 1,000 in less than two months.
11 – A Trail man died in fall above the rock bluffs near the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. Witnesses saw a climber fall several metres from the rock face.

26 – A campfire ban is issued for the entire Southeast Fire Centre due to the extreme wildfire danger.

26 – The province announces that three new full-time paramedics and a new ambulance will operate out of Trail in September.
29 – Helitankers and regional firefighters quickly douse a wildfire near Casino before it can spread any further. No homes were threatened and the cause was under investigation. FortisBC cut off power to about 2,500 customers as a safety measure.
