4 – The Trail Smoke Eaters begin their playoff run with back-to-back wins over the West Kelowna Warriors. Trail went on to sweep the Warriors in four games.
5 – The Lower Columbia snowpack is rated the deepest in B.C. coming in at 134 per cent The BC River Forecast Centre reported.
7 – The City of Trail said the number passengers at the Trail airport climbed slightly in 2017. A total of 20.695 people took flights at YZZ in 2017.
12 – Trail council met with RCMP to discuss lowering the speed limit through the city. The city also contacted the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and asked police to step up patrols. Later in the month the ministry said after studying traffic trends speed isn’t an issue.
13 – The City of Trail was awarded a $1.1 million federal grant for work on the Trail Memorial Centre roof.
19 – Scarlet Sway’s run in the CBC’s Searchlight 2018 comes to an end with a top-10 finish. The Dawson Creek-based group, which includes three Trail area musicians, reached the top-10 in fan voting. Aquakultre, a singer from Halifax won top spot.
27 – The abundance of snow over the winter has local communities monitoring the spring melt in anticipation of flooding.
29 – A mudslide along Riverside Ave., in Trail forced one man from his home while the property is assessed for any further danger. The slide shook resident Gord Guesford from his sleep and his home sustained damage.
