An RV that stopped on the railway tracks in Langley was smashed by an oncoming CN Rail train on Tuesday, March 5.
The crash happened at about 10:30 a.m., said Cpl. Craig Van Herk of the Langley RCMP.
The RV was heading south came to a stop on the railway crossing in the 9900 block of 201st Street, near the Golden Ears Bridge in the industrial area of Walnut Grove.
Video posted online shows the front end of the RV was still on the tracks as a train approached, where it had broken down, said Van Herk.
A man emerged from the RV and waved at the train, then retreated. The train was unable to stop in time, and it knocked the entire RV off the tracks, tearing it to pieces and leaving debris scattered over a wide area.
“Thankfully no one was injured,” said Van Herk.
CN Rail Police and Langley RCMP, along with Langley Township staff were on scene at the crash site.
