Transport arranged for Clinton residents to evacuate village

Anyone with mobility, health, or transportation concerns can take a bus to Kamloops this weekend.

Clinton residents with mobility, health, and transportation concerns will be able to leave for the Evacuation Centre in Kamloops on the evening of Saturday, July 15. A school bus will be leaving the Village Office at 7 p.m.

The bus will return for another trip to Kamloops on Sunday, July 16 (time to be determined). For more information call the Village Office at (250) 459-2261.

With an Evacuation Alert in place for Clinton, those with livestock should be thinking ahead about plans to relocate their livestock to a safe place. Anyone requiring assistance with this should contact Alena at (250) 395-6309.

And do not be alarmed if you see military resources and personnel in and around Clinton. The military will be arriving in the area to assist with fighting the Ashcroft Reserve fire with helicopters, equipment, and personnel.
