Have you seen this trailer? If you have, the owners would really like it returned to them.
The 30-foot, white 2011 Cougar 25RLS travel trailer with the license plate UFV 48K was stolen from its storage location in View Royal at some point during the past few days.
Owner Andrea Robertson, a Langford resident, said the trailer was parked in its regular spot after being serviced on March 25, in preparation for the upcoming camping season. When she went back to check on the trailer on Tuesday (March 28), it was gone.
“I was dumbfounded,” Robertson said. “They even took the wedges that go around the tires.”
The theft was reported to West Shore RCMP, but the detachment would not release any information relating to the case when contacted by the Gazette on Wednesday.
Robertson noted the site where the trailer has been stored for the past two years has security that regularly monitors the area and the camper was properly secured. “It was all locked up, we always do that …. We’re very vigilant about that.”
At a loss for what to do next, Robertson and her husband have called all of the trailer dealers and locksmiths they could find on the Island, have checked highway cams and are now hoping the public can help them locate the stolen trailer.
The couple opted for a large bay window at the rear, and Robertson said that can be a distinguishing feature.
If you see this trailer in your travels, please report it to the West Shore RCMP by phoning 250-474-2264 and reference file number 2017-4197.
