A 12-person jury has been selected to decide the fate of accused killer Matthew Foerster.

The eight-man, four-woman jury will hear the matter of Foerster, from Cherryville, who is charged with the first degree murder of Armstrong teen Taylor Van Diest.

The 18-year-old girl was found Halloween night in 2011 by train tracks near her home. She died shortly thereafter in hospital.

The jury selection process took place in the Kelowna courthouse earlier this week, and the first day of the trial is slated for Monday.

The trial is scheduled for three weeks.
