Darrell Trouton will be taking over the mayor’s chair in Sicamous for the next three years.
The unofficial election tally shows Trouton succeeding Malcolm MacLeod by almost 100 votes, followed by Lorraine March and then Sheldon Ready.
Three incumbent councillors, Fred Busch, Charlotte Hutchinson and Don Richardson will be returning to the table. The candidate to receive the highest number of votes (including the mayoral race) was Greg Kyllo with close to 700 votes. Other newcomers to the council table will be Terry Rysz and Joan Thomson.
In the race to represent Sicamous/Malakwa on the District #83 school board, Barry Chafe, with 609 votes, beat out Sharon Gibb with 317 votes.
