The Oliver Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Saturday afternoon that quickly spread to a nearby structure and two other vehicles.
According to Oliver Fire Department media officer, Rob Graham, crews were dispatched at around 5:24 p.m. on July 27 after receiving a report a truck was on fire.

The fire spread to some nearby brush and a structure next to the truck, he said. By the time crews arrived at the scene, the structure and two other vehicles were engulfed in flames.
“As this was in a rural area and there were limited water supplies, water tenders were utilized to shuttle water to the scene,” said Graham.
In total, crews used three tenders to battle the fire, two from Oliver and one from Willowbrook, a small community about 30 kilometres south of Penticton.

Graham said firefighters worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire but were unable to save the structure because of the amount that had burned by the time they arrived at the fire.
Crews stayed at the location until around 10 p.m. mopping up hot spots.
It is believed the cause was from two jumper cables bridged together to a truck that sparked some grass on fire.
