Twin Meadows Animal Rescue officially kicked off their first ever Christmas Silent Auction this week – a fundraising initiative to cover veterinary bills, food, and maintenance for the foster and rescue animals in their care.
The event, which is taking place on the Facebook group titled Twin Meadows Animal Rescue Christmas Silent Auction 2020, has a number of tantalizing items up for grabs including original pieces of artwork, jewelry, spirits, clothing, snowboard tune-ups and more.
“We are so touched by the generosity,” said fundraising director, Alex Simons, who added that many of their auction items have already surpassed their retail values.
“People have donated so many things, businesses, artists, individuals, they have all donated something from all over the valley. Most of the items have quite significant bids on them, and we’re overwhelmed with how it’s been going, considering this is our first silent auction and our second ever fundraiser.”
Bidding for the silent auction items remains open until Dec. 13 at 9 p.m., at which point time stamps on bids will determine the winner of each item.
In addition to the silent auction, Twin Meadows continues to seek adopters for the animals in their care, including Bella, a shy, snugly cat who is tolerant of gentle dogs and doesn’t mind other cats.
“She certainly deserved so much more than the hand she was previously dealt – if anyone is interested in giving this gorgeous girl a new, loving forever home, please contact us,” added Simons.
Twin Meadows is still accepting donations of items to be auctioned off. To donate an item to the auction, email twinmeadowsanimalrescue@gmail.com.
