Two Chilliwack schools have had recent notices of potential COVID-19 exposures, according to a site that is tracking such notices.
Mt. Cheam Christian School had a potential exposure on Oct. 16, and Tyson elementary had a possible exposure on Oct. 19. While Mt. Cheam is listed on the Fraser Health website for school exposures, under Independent Schools, Tyson is not yet listed.
A Facebook page called the BC School Covid Tracker has been keeping a master list of all letters sent out to school communities, as well as notices made public by health authorities. Over the weekend they posted a letter sent out from Tyson elementary. So far they’ve listed 282 school exposure events across the province, affecting 201 schools. Of those, 50 schools have had more than one exposure event.
Families at Tyson were informed on Oct. 23 of the Oct. 19 potential exposure.
The letter reminds parents that if there is a concern then they will be contacted by Fraser Health.
