Two flood evacuation orders have now been rescinded by the Fraser Valley Regional District.
On May 31, the FVRD lifted the orders for Harrison Bay in Electoral Area C and the undiked areas around Nicomen Island in Electoral Area G.
The FVRD’s emergency response plan is based on water level readings from various flood gauges along the Fraser River. While the Mission gauge is lower than 5.4-metres today, and the 10-day forecast showing continued favourable conditions, these properties are still on evacuation alert to ensure public safety.
Dewdney Regional Park and Island 22 Regional Park remain closed, including the equestrian park, Riverside Trail and the dog park. It is expected that once waters fully recede, repairs will be necessary before the parks can be reopened. The FVRD will work toward reopening these two regional parks as quickly as possible.
