Two people are in hospital after being shot at the north end of the city’s notorious strip in Whalley.
At about 3:10 a.m. Thursday (July 28), Surrey RCMP were called to 108 Avenue and 135A Street on reports of a shooting.
On arrival, Mounties sound a man suffering from a gunshot wound. A second victim was also found nearby and both were taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this is an isolated incident.
It is Surrey’s 50th shooting of the year.
