A local group that works to reunite owners with lost pets is reporting a theft of two puppies from a home in Langford.
Two eight-week-old Pomeranians, Mila and Stripe, were last seen at 8 p.m. on Tuesday in their home in the 2700-block of Claude Road.
“We had one case in the past where we put on so much social media pressure, the thief gave up and brought the puppy back,” said ROAM administrator Lesli Steeves. “We are hoping that will be the case here as well. These puppies should still be with their momma.”

The puppies were for sale and the owners held several showings of them Tuesday.
According to ROAM, the owners said that someone came into the house at one point saying he was a neighbour or friend.
While the owners were busy doing paperwork for the sale of one of the puppies, two of the puppies disappeared.
Fortunately, the puppies had been recently microchipped. The microchip is a small electronic device implanted just below the skin which is coded with unique information that can be read by a scanner. If a microchipped pet is found, they can be quickly and easily reunited with their owners.
“Chipping pets is really key as they are hard to tamper with, and you can’t re-register without consent of the previous owner,” said Steeves.

“We are hoping for the best here,” said Steeves.
A police report has been filed.
The ROAM poster on Facebook received 314 shares in the first hour.
The owners are offering a $1,000 reward.
