Two men were seriously injured in a dirt bike collision in Maple Ridge on Wednesday.

The crash took place at approximately 4:30 p.m. on the Sandman Trail about 1.5 km from the north end of 256 Street.

Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue was called and had to hike in to the victims because the trail was too narrow for an ATV, according to spokesman Rick Laing.

The crew hiked in for approximately half an hour, and brought the victims out on a stretcher.

One man was taken to hospital by air ambulance, and the other went by ground ambulance.
