Williams Lake RCMP are investigating two fatal motor vehicle incidents.
The first incident occurred on Oct. 10 at 7:35 p.m. on the Horsefly Road approximately 20 kilometres north of 150 Mile House.
A southbound vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch on the west side of the road.
The 58-year-old male driver was the only occupant in the vehicle.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
RCMP Traffic Services collision analyst and BC Coroner’s Service personnel attended.
The investigation is ongoing.
His name will not be released pending notification of next of kin.
The second incident occurred on Oct. 11 at 12:55 a.m. near the 1400 block of South Lakeside Drive in Williams Lake.
A southbound vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch on the east side of the road.
The vehicle proceeded down a slight embankment and rolled onto the CN tracks.
The collision caused extensive damage to the vehicle and some damage to the CN railway.
There were three occupants in the vehicle – two males, one who was 29, were pronounced deceased at the scene and one 21-year-old female who was taken to the Cariboo Memorial Hospital with serious injuries then transported to hospital in Vancouver.
South Lakeside Drive was closed to traffic for several hours.
Only one CN train was due to travel through the area over the time of the closure and was slightly delayed.
Names will not be released pending notification of next of kin.
The police investigations are continuing into the cause of the collision.
