Emergency crews were on Highway 17 near the Tannery Road on-ramp Sunday night for a three-vehicle collision that sent two people to hospital and caused a Jeep SUV to catch fire.
According to police, crews were dispatched just before 10 p.m.
Other vehicles involved were a semi-trailer and another, smaller vehicle. The Jeep driver had serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, Surrey RCMP Const. Richard Wright said.
One witness said it appeared that the Jeep rear-ended the semi-trailer.
Wright said cause of the investigation is ongoing.
