A two-vehicle collision on Hwy 3A near the Brilliant Bridge sent two people to hospital Wednesday evening.
Shortly after 5 p.m. Jan. 22 first responders were called to the scene of an accident at the intersection of the highway and Rosedale Road in Ootischenia.
The incident involved a pickup truck and a white 2013 Toyota Rav 4.
The Castlegar Fire Department extricated the 84-year-old male driver of the Toyota with the Jaws of Life. He was taken to hospital by B.C. Ambulance Services with serious, undetermined injuries.
There were two people in the truck, both 44 years old, one of them was also taken by ambulance to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Ootischenia Fire Department also responded to the incident.
The RCMP is still speaking to witnesses and investigating the incident.
Thursday morning accident
Another collision happened Thursday morning on Hwy 3 between Castlegar and Thrums.
According to RCMP one vehicle rear-ended a semi, and then a second vehicle read-ended the first vehicle. The drivers recieved only minor injuries.
The area was foggy and weather is considered a factor in the incident.
