Uber Eats has arrived in Chilliwack.
The company says it is starting with online food ordering and delivery from 60 local restaurants locally including Major League 2 Taphouse and Sports Pub, Cookies Grill and Frankie’s Italian Kitchen.
Raffaele Aiello of Frankies said the expansion of Uber Eats into Chilliwack gives them an opportunity to reach a new customer base, as well as giving existing customers a service they want.
Lola Kassim, general manager of Uber Eats Canada, said the service is being offered at five other new markets in B.C. Abbotsford is the only other new Lower Mainland location.
“These days, supporting your favourite restaurants isn’t always easy,” Kassim said in a press release. “We are committed to working with the city’s restaurant scene to bring you the best Chilliwack has to offer at the touch of a button.”
Uber Eats is currently available in more than 120 cities across the country. Similar services already available in Chilliwack include DoorDash and SkipTheDishes.
With Uber Eats, restaurants can choose between options such as zero per cent pickup, 7.5 per cent for online ordering, and 15 per cent for restaurants who use their own delivery staff in addition to the company’s full-service option.
