Unlicensed grow-op busted by Abbotsford police

Officers had previously gone to the house, but were told the grow was licensed - it wasn't

An unlicensed grow-op at an Abbotsford house was shut down by police yesterday evening, March 9.

Police had previously gone to the property near the intersection of Marshall Road and Horizon Street, but a person inside told officers they had a license to grow the marijuana plants.

“We checked with Health Canada, [they] advised that there was no license there,” said Sgt, Judy Bird, media officer for the Abbotsford Police Department. “So we carried out a warrant.”

Nearby residents reportedly saw officers confiscating materials from the house and loading it into a police van around 11 p.m.

Bird said that no one was arrested and no charges have been filed, yet.
