Penticton residents can expect unlimited yard waste collection from their curbside Nov. 26 – 30.
The initiative is intended to aid residents in preparing their yards for the winter months. Residents that receive curbside waste collection are able to put out unlimited paper bags or containers of yard waste on their regular day of collection once they’ve filled their city-issued yard waste containers.
The city advises that all yard waste for collecting must be at your usual collection point by 7 a.m. for a separate collection truck to pick up. It is noted the waste must be in kraft paper bags or reusable containers labelled “yard waste”.
Branches are to be bundled using twine and prunings are to be no more than 3 ft in length, 3 inches in diameter and 50 pounds in weight.
No tag-a-bag stickers are required but yard waste contained in plastic bags will not be collected. Residents are reminded to leave approximately 3 ft or 1 meter between carts and additional yard waste.
