UPDATE: Access restored to West Coast Express station after Mission shooting

Passengers bound for Mission may need to exit the train at Port Haney Station.

West Coast Express now has full access to Mission City station after a shooting near there earlier today.

Due to a police investigation of the shooting near the West Coast Express station in Mission, passengers on the afternoon commuter trains were not be able to disembark at that station.

But CP Police have cleared access to Mission station, said TransLink Media Relations.

Passengers bound for Mission were told to exit the train at Port Haney Station.

RCMP confimed that a police-involved shooting took place Wednesday morning in Mission

Staff Sgt. Steve Crawford said the RCMP received a public complaint at about 8 a.m. Wednesday.

When police responded, they located and confronted a suspect.

While no details are being released at this time, the investigation is still in the early stages, the suspect was shot.

A medical helicopter was been called in.

Mission RCMP secured the scene, located on the railway tracks behind the Safeway building on Lougheed Highway.
