UPDATE: Aggressive coyote moves to Sparwood

Residents urged not to feed or approach the animal

UPDATE: An aggressive coyote reported in Elkford has moved to Sparwood.

Late Friday, the Conservation Officer Service was informed the animal had been spotted near Rayco Steel Ltd on Michel Creek Road.

Residents are asked not to feed or approach the coyote for their safety and the animal’s.

Residents have been urged not to feed or approach an aggressive habituated coyote wandering the streets of Elkford.

On Friday afternoon, the District of Elkford issued a warning on Facebook after the animal was spotted in the Lamplighter area.

“Please do not feed or approach the animal for your own safety and for the safety of the animal,” said the District.
